Tokyo Food trip
SEAFOOD & IZAKAYA CLASSICS
Begin the trip in Tsukiji Outer Market, one of Tokyo’s most famous food districts. Arriving early allows you to explore the lively streets as chefs slice fresh tuna, seafood stalls grill scallops, and small sushi counters serve breakfast to locals and travelers alike. After enjoying the market atmosphere, walk to nearby Ginza, where luxury department stores hide some of the city’s best food halls in their basements. These “depachika” markets offer beautifully prepared bento boxes, desserts, and gourmet snacks. In the evening, take a short train ride to Yurakucho, where restaurants under the railway tracks serve grilled skewers and drinks in a lively izakaya atmosphere.
TOKYO’S SEAFOOD MARKET & BAY DINING
Day two begins at Toyosu Market, Tokyo’s modern wholesale seafood market where visitors can watch tuna auctions and enjoy sushi breakfasts made with incredibly fresh fish. After exploring the observation decks and market restaurants, walk to Senkyaku Banrai, a newly opened Edo-style food district that recreates the atmosphere of historic Tokyo. The afternoon is perfect for exploring the nearby Odaiba waterfront, a futuristic entertainment area with ocean views. In the evening, enjoy dinner overlooking Tokyo Bay before returning to the city.
OLD & NEW TOYKO
Today focuses on traditional Tokyo food culture. Begin in Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s oldest neighborhoods, where the famous Sensō-ji Temple sits at the center of lively shopping streets filled with snack stalls. After exploring the temple area, walk to Kappabashi Street, where chefs buy knives and cookware. In the afternoon, cross the river to visit Tokyo Skytree, the tallest structure in Japan. In the evening, enjoy dinner with skyline views in the nearby Solamachi shopping complex.
